H.R. 1130 was introduced by Representative Moakley. This legislation directs the Consumer Product Safety Commision to promulgate a fire safety standard for cigarettes. It would also allow people who has been adversely affected by these situations to petition for judicial review with in an alloted time period. I understand your personal interest in this legislation. Currently this legislation has 80 co-sponsors and is under consideration by the House Committee on Commerce. Rest assured that I will keep your views in mind should I ever have the chance to vote on this legislation.

Again thank you for your correspondence. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any future questions or concerns that you may have.

Sincerely,

Dan Miller

Member of Congress
